It’s cute
It’s cute but definitely not denim. At 5’10 I need it to be a little longer. Also the chemical smell is HORRIBLE! Not sure if I could get it out

Cute, but not denim
Cute, but I'm not sure this should be labeled as denim. Looks like denim, but VERY thin if it's denim. Feels more like a thick challis. It fits great and is super flattering, just not really a denim. Also, the buttons in the front are just for show.

A bit big, not true denim
I just returned this. It looks like denim but, like a previous reviewer mentioned, it feels more like challis. It looked cute layered with a white button down but it was way too big. I fear that sizing down to the 00 would not be enough - despite the smocking in the back. It is light weight and could be a comfortable, versatile transition piece for the upcoming months. I just wish it was a bit smaller. Also, buttons are for show & not functional. For reference, I’m 5’11 & 180lbs and usually a size 00/0 to a 1.

Loved but…..
I got this and I thought it would be so cute! But sadly the size I normally get in shirts a 2 was very hard to get over my boobs and once I got past them, I was scared I may be stuck in the shirt. If you have a bigger chest maybe be cautious of this top

So disappointing
Got this a couple weeks ago and was excited to try it on, along with the other items I got, however, the first thing I noticed was the awful chemical smell from the dye before I even got it out of the bag. I decided to try it on anyway, but it’s absolutely not denim, it’s odd, thin material and did not fit right. I got my normal size 2, and it fit in some places but not right in others. Maybe it’s not really for big chested women as the darts kinda poked up strangely. Anyway, I was super disappointed because it looked so cute in the pictures and looked like a better material that would’ve worked fine, so yeah, I returned it. Which, btw, the lady at the store tried to tell me that the smell would wash out, however, anytime I have tried that in the past, it does not work.
I really wish Torrid would stop using these cheap stinky dyes and cheap material. It’s really frustrating and tragic that their quality has gone so far downhill the last several years but their prices keep going up. It’s not right.

SMELLS HORRIBLE
I bought this top about two months ago. I have never worn it due to the smell. It's really cute although I doubt it's true denim. It's kind of thin for denim. I can't speak to how it fits as I can't stand the smell long enough to actually try it on. I have washed it 4 times. It still smells and it's starting to fade. I have tried spraying it with vinegar water solution. I tried soaking it in vodka and freezing it ( method for deodorizing jeans) Nothing works. It's hanging in my garage because I can't stand the smell in my closet. So sad. I can't return it, can't wear it. What in the world was the dye that was used to color the fabric? I feel like it might be toxic to wear. Don't buy this shirt. This is the first time I haven't been able to wash something and the smell won't go away. Do better Torrid. I paid a lot for something I wouldn't even use as a dust rag.
